A Glimpse of Greatness

Hey Coaches,

I wasn’t going to send an email today, but I had to share this clip of Juan Soto’s at bat last night.

For context, Soto was at bat in extra-innings with 2 outs, 2 runners on base and Aaron Judge up next.

After three pitches (45 seconds into the clip), you can see a reaction from Soto as he realizes the pitcher is stuck and will eventually have to throw him a fastball, a pitch he knows he can hit.

Between each pitch, you see Soto lick his lips and nod to the pitcher as to say, “I have you.” You also see his self-talk between each pitch:

• “I’m all over this guy.”

• “He’s got nothing to beat me with.”
