Embarrassment, what is it good for? Kelly defines embarrassment as “the unpleasant feeling that we have done something to harm the image we imagine others have of us.” The post explains how understanding it can help you grow as a person.
“As our identities have become less shaped by the roles given to us by society, and more connected to our “personal brand”, we seem to have become more and more concerned about the things that damage that brand rather than those that hurt others.”

💭 Miscellaneous
Sam Altman (of OpenAI) on Internal Drive
“I think one thing that is a really important thing to strive for is being internally driven, being driven to compete with yourself, not with other people. If you compete with other people, you end up in this mimetic trap, and you sort of play this tournament, and if you win, you lose. But if you’re competing with yourself, and all you’re trying to do is — for the own self-satisfaction and for also the impact you have on the world and the duty you feel to do that — be the best possible version you can, there is no limit to how far that can drive someone to perform.”
Harvey Firestone on The Test of A Man (in any field)
“The test of a business man is not whether he can make money in one or two boom years, or can make money through the luck of getting into the field first, but whether in a highly competitive field, without having any initial advantage over his competitors, he can outdistance them in a perfect honorable way and keep the respect of himself and of his community.”
📺 Video
The Blue Angels - I had no idea what the Blue Angels were, but this documentary is one of the best things I’ve watched about team-building, the pursuit of excellence and working towards a bigger purpose.
I highly recommend watching it (and think your teams would benefit from it as well).
