The Road to Self-Renewal: In a recent podcast I listened to, a couple of investors recently mentioned this post as something they read every year. It’s one of the best things I’ve read and will come back to it in the future.
Byron Wein’s 20 Life Lessons: A well-known investor passed away two months ago - he shared 20 life lessons here. Here are a few of my favorites:
Every year, try doing something you have never done before that is totally out of your comfort zone.
Don’t try to be better than your competitors, try to be different. There is always going to be someone smarter than you, but there may not be someone who is more imaginative.
At the beginning of every year think of ways you can do your job better than you have ever done it before. Write them down and look at what you have set out for yourself when the year is over.

💭 Miscellaneous
Paul Assaiante on life (source)
"Life is not just about peaks and valleys, about wins and losses. Life is about the journey. You hear that all the time. You’ve got to absorb that. You’ve got to know that. The journey has to become the destination because there is no true destination. There is no endpoint. There is no goal. All rivers run to the sea and yet the sea is not full. Life goes on; accept what life gives you. The sun rises the morning after you win the championship or lose in the first round."
Sam Keen on Gratitude
“The more you become a connoisseur of gratitude, the less you are a victim of resentment, depression, and despair. Gratitude will act as an elixir that will gradually dissolve the hard shell of your ego–your need to possess and control—and transform you into a generous being. The sense of gratitude produces true spiritual alchemy, makes us magnanimous—large souled.”
